La Sojourn, an idyllic, recently refurbished French country farmhouse which can sleep up to 8 people.
The three bedroom, 2 bathroom house is located in the picturesque hamlet of Barie, with lovely walks along the Garonne. It is near the towns of La Reole and Langon in the Aquitaine region of France. La Sojourn is approx 50 km southeast of Bordeaux with its modern international airport in department 33, the Gironde. The house stands in its own private grounds on the banks of the Garonne and benefits from a lovely 10m x 5m swimming pool perfect for cooling off in on those long hot summer days.
The surrounding countryside is great for cycling and walking, especially along the Canal du Midi recently featured in the latest Rick Stein programme. On any chosen day of the week in France you will find that it is market day, where you can buy the best quality seasonal fruit, vegetables, meat and fish. In the summer months most towns and villages have their annual fetes and everyone is invited to join in.
The South West of France is a beautiful area to visit and still retains, around us anyway, a very french ambience with lovely local wines, delicious food and great weather, perfect for re-charging your batteries.
